My Reflection about Phonetics and its vital rule for pronunciation
For our professor:
Alexander Ramirez
Bijan Nassiri
student in Master of English Language ICESI University
What I have already studied and learned about phonetics and
pronunciation never can be forgotten, because it is not only essential for our
career but also fundamental for us in order to teach our students and correct
their pronunciations in an useful way.
As a matter of fact, by studying phonetics and its important rules in
pronunciation we as English teachers now are aware that we shouldn’t look at or
pronounce the words as they are, but we must understand that misunderstanding
the communication is because of mispronouncing the words that obviously affects
our communication with others. “Until you didn’t say any word, nobody knows who
you are” Fred Ashoury, 1999.
On the whole, I can say that Accuracy and Fluency are necessary to have
a sufficient ability in order to pronounce the words correctly. “If you spend
most of your time studying grammar, your English will not improve very much.
You will see most improvement if you learn more words and expressions with good
pronunciation. You can say very little with grammar, but you can say almost anything
by words ( Dellar H and Hocking D, Innovations, LTP).”
I definitely appreciate you because of your valuable teaching.
